“It is time to put wine lovers back in touch with the winemaker.  Our focus is in small lot production, so that your wine is made for you. In most cultures that have a history of wine, you could simply walk into the winery, speak with the winemaker about the current vintage and what best matches your taste, and buy your wine.  It is time to once again let the you control your wine cellar from grape to barrel to bottle.”

How do I commission wine with Grapemasters? Commissioning wine is simple; you'll meet with Charles to decide on the types of wines you like to drink, and make a plan as to how you will make your wines. You can either choose from the types of wines that are currently being commissioned, or work with Charles to design something for you.

I've never heard of commissioning wine. Can you really offer this service? Absolutely - Charles has been helping people make wine for over 14 years. The focus of Grapemasters is to give people even more control of their wines, and to focus on making the highest caliber wines based on purchasing the best grapes possible. Grapemasters is the premium brand associated with making the highest possible quality wine from exceptional grapes - it is a brand under the Fermentations umbrella, a business Charles has been operating since 1993, and is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

What do I have to do to make wine with Grapemasters? Once you decide on the types of wine that you would like, a plan for each wine is worked out. You can elect to begin your fermentation using the indigenous strains of yeast that grow naturally with the grapes (old world style) or choose pure strain cultures of yeast produced by companies that offer hundreds of strains to wineries. Charles can explain to you the benefits of each method, and help you make your best choice.

What happens when my wine is ready? You will be contacted to arrange a pickup time. Grapemasters has automated equipment that will allow you to bottle a Cuvée Privée in less than 20 minutes. Everything that you will need, including your corks, bottles and labels are provided at no additional cost.
